Launch of New Report: “Natural Gas: Flipping the Switch”

12 May 2017

On 9th May 2017, MGA hosted the launch of a new report entitled “NATURAL GAS: FLIPPING THE SWITCH – Dawn of New Era” at Kuala Lumpur Convention Center.

The report, produced by Investvine, was launched in conjunction with the 19th Asia Oil and Gas Conference (AOGC 2017).

It addresses the commonly asked questions on the role of natural gas in Malaysia and Southeast Asia. What environmental and economic benefits does gas bring to the nation and the region? In the push for clean energy and energy security, why should natural gas remain an integral part of the energy mix today and in the future? It is available for download at investvine.com and hardcopies available at MGA’s office.

The launch was officiated by YBhg. Datuk Allauddin Hj Anuar, Deputy Director General (Sectoral), Economic Planning Unit (EPU) of Malaysia.

The release of the report was timely and followed closely with the consistent narratives and tones set during AOGC on the economic and environmental benefits that natural gas brings to the nation.

During the opening ceremony, YAB Prime Minster of Malaysia in his keynote address said, “I believe oil & gas companies can help promote the use of natural gas, together with renewable energy, as the cleaner fuel option to sustain economic growth.” He further added, “I am hopeful that companies and government can form “smart” partnerships to unlock the full potential of natural gas as a viable option – which will make bot commercial sense and environmental sense, and it is important that we see these two motives as supporting one another, not being in opposition”.

The media was in full force during the launch. Below are some links to the news sites reporting the Launch.
