Abang Yusuf Abang Puteh serves as the President of the Malaysian Gas Association (MGA), the nation’s lead advocate for the natural gas industry. Bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in energy, LNG assets, carbonate reservoirs, and offshore operations, he plays a key role in advancing sustainable energy strategies and driving industry collaboration across the region.

Over his career, he has held numerous executive leadership positions in global energy management and currently sits on corporate boards, including PETRONAS Energy Canada Ltd. and PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad.

Academically, Abang Yusuf holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He further honed his strategic executive vision by completing the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.

Jane has been with PETRONAS for the past 13 years and is currently the Custodian for Upstream Research at Strategic Research.

Her passion for all things gas and to be “at home” in Malaysia spurred her to join PETRONAS, after spending more than two decades as a financial journalist with international news agencies.

She was a financial journalist with international news agencies including Dow Jones, Reuters and Bloomberg, where she covered Asia Pacific economic developments, monetary and fiscal policies as well as being right at the centre of the Asian financial crisis’ news coverage when Southeast Asian currencies tumbled in 1997. Jane reported on the sacking of then Malaysian Deputy Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, was caught in the Kg Baru weekend protests, and also the collapse of the Suharto regime in Indonesia brought on by the financial crisis.

As a journalist, the industries she has delved in detail into include the banking sector, the commodities sector and also trading for crude oil and LNG.

Jane graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications from Universiti Sains Malaysia.

The upstream sector remains crucial in meeting potential energy needs and a better understanding of this sector’s importance drives Jane to constantly share her knowledge in this business while learning from the experts in PETRONAS, an organisation she’s very proud to be a part of.

Andrea has 30 years’ experience in the energy and gas sector in strategic, development, commercial, regulatory and transition matters.

Starting in Eni E&P and thereafter he actively promoted the liberalization process, leading Underground Gas Storage regulatory and business development.

Since 2010, he moved to Snam where he has been leading infrastructure development and international M&A activities. Among these, he had a primary role in fostering the Southern Gas Corridor development.

When heading Snam Strategy, he was the initial promoter of the Gas for Climate 2050 initiative and launched the CNG/SSLNG and biomethane activities.

He then led the Snam Global Solutions business unit, founded to support gas markets development and optimization worldwide and, in specific, the set-up of Snam cooperation in China. He is currently serving as International Gas Union President.

Sam is a Partner in Advisory APAC and is based in Singapore. He has more than 10 years of working experience in the energy sector and focuses on the areas of strategy development, commercial advisory, transaction support, and market opportunity assessment projects. Sam has extensive experience working with a wide range of clients, including energy majors, investors, NOCs, NGOs and governments. He has led a wide range of projects for the overall energy sector, such as upstream E&P, gas and LNG, downstream, power and renewables and new energies.

Prior to joining Rystad Energy, Sam came from a background in oil and gas strategy advisory. Sam graduated from the National University of Singapore with a major in Chemical Engineering.

Chris Starling is the Chief Strategy Officer of JERA Asia, based in Singapore. He leads strategy development, business planning, and market intelligence activities for JERA’s gas-to-power and low-carbon thermal power businesses across South and Southeast Asia.

With 20 years of experience across Asian and European energy markets, Chris’ expertise covers energy market analysis and strategy development across the fuel-to-power and renewable energy sectors in Asia. His work spans policy and regulation, fundamentals and forecasting, and competitor analysis. Chris has also authored and contributed to numerous energy market publications and assessments on behalf of organizations such as the Asian Development Bank.

Prior to JERA, Chris held roles at European energy utilities and at a leading Asian consultancy. Within Asia, he has led teams on strategic initiatives and advisory services across South and Southeast Asia energy markets, including transaction advisory work to support major M&A deals in markets such as the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Chris also serves on the Board of Directors and Investment Committee at Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group), a leading power business based in Thailand. He holds an MBA from the University of Bath in the United Kingdom.

Dinesh Cheryan is Director, Upstream Business Services at Chevron Malaysia, where he leads a multidisciplinary organization encompassing Commercial, Economics and Decision Analysis, Supply Chain Management, Corporate Affairs and Communications, and Information Technology.

Over a career spanning nearly three decades across the energy sector, Dinesh has held both commercial and technical roles with Chevron, Hess, and Shell in Asia, Europe, and USA. His experience spans commercial strategy, business development, portfolio management, decision and economic analysis, project integration and organizational leadership.

Prior to Chevron, Dinesh most recently served as Director Commercial, Economics and Pre-Development for Hess Asia, supporting assets that provide a significant proportion of natural gas supply to Peninsular Malaysia and Southern Thailand.

Earlier in his career, he served as Hess Chief Economist and Director of Value Assurance. He started his career in project and appraisal engineering with Shell. Dinesh also spent a portion of his professional career in academic research at the London School of Economics and Political Science.

Suwanto is the Head of the Fossil Fuels, Hydrocarbon, and Minerals (FOM) Department at the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), where he leads regional work on oil, gas, coal, critical minerals, and low-carbon technologies, including CCS/CCUS and methane emissions in support of ASEAN’s energy security and energy transition.

He has 15+ years of working experience in the energy sector, spanning engineering work, research, project development, stakeholder engagement and policy advocacy.

At ACE, he has been involved in various regional energy initiatives, including energy and climate projects, which have significantly broadened his comprehension of energy transition and climate actions for sustainable development.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB), Indonesia and a master’s degree in Sustainable Systems Engineering from the University of Freiburg, Germany.

A senior energy executive with more than 24 years of leadership across Indonesia’s
gas infrastructure, midstream operations, and corporate strategy. She is currently
Director Technical Development Investment at PT Danantara Development
Management Fund (DDMF). She previously served as Director of Strategy and
Business Development at PT Perusahaan Gas Negara (2023–2025) and Director of
Technical and Operations at PT Pertamina Gas (2019–2023).

She has a track record of delivering large-scale national energy projects, from pipeline construction to LNG commercialization, and of driving growth, sustainability, and transformation across the Pertamina Group. She holds a doctorate from SBM ITB, complementing an M.Sc. from NUS and an MBA from SBM ITB and Aalto University, and is a published author on Indonesia’s energy transition. She chairs the Indonesian
Oil & Gas Pipeline Professionals Association (IAPMIGAS) for 2026–2030 and serves
on the International Gas Union Strategy Committee and the board of the Indonesian Gas Society.

Mr. Song inaugurated in January 2023, as the Secretary General of the Korea Gas Union.

Before his appointment, he was the Chief of Staff for the House Steering Committee of Korea’s National Assembly from 2020. Having passed Korea’s Higher Legislative Service Exam in 1992, he served for the country for almost 30 years. He started his career as an administrative officer of the Secretariat of Korea’s National Assembly and later worked as legislative research officer for numerous Committees of National Assembly.

In 2009, he was dispatched to the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD) as an Economist and returned in 2012 to the Foreign Affairs and Unification Committee as the Deputy Chief of Staff.

He holds a BA in Public Administration at the Kyungpook National University, a Master in Economics in Syracuse University and is a Ph.D. candidate in Economics at the Sogang University.

Rosman Hamzah brings over 30 years of robust experience in the energy sector, encompassing the entire life cycle of energy projects, from policy formulation and business development to engineering and project management.

Currently the Managing Director of ROSERGY Consulting, Rosman previously served as the Secretary General of the Malaysian Gas Association (MGA) where he proactively advocated advancement of the Malaysian gas industry that include establishing the Malaysian Gas Symposium (MyGAS) as the premier platform for industry discourse on natural gas.

He also participated in several national committees on drafting various policies concerning the energy sector. Rosman’s significant impact to the industry was acknowledged with the ASEAN Energy Award for Individual Excellence in 2023.

Rosman has actively participated as a speaker and moderator at numerous conferences, contributing to the discourse on energy matters in Malaysia and abroad. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in founding the Malaysia Women in Energy (MyWiE), advocating for equal opportunities for women in the energy sector.

Rosman holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Nottingham and BEng from University of Bath. He is a member of the Industrial Advisory Panel at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) and a past ELITE@UM Fellow at Universiti Malaya (UM).

Rumaizi Abdul Halim is Director of the Market Regulation & Planning Division at the Energy Commission (Suruhanjaya Tenaga), where he leads Malaysia’s integrated energy planning and the regulation of its electricity and gas markets. He is also responsible for implementing Energy Transition programs as well as promoting energy sector’s innovation and technology partnership.  He led the implementation of the gas Third Party Access regime, which opened Malaysia’s gas market in 2022. Before joining the Commission, he worked at PETRONAS Gas Berhad, so he has seen the energy sector from both the industry side and the regulator’s side.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration Computer Information System from California State University, Dominguez Hills, and a Diploma in Mechanical Technology (Gas) from Universiti Teknologi Malaysia.

Azli Mohamed is the President & Group Chief Executive Officer of Gas Malaysia Berhad. He brings over two decades of leadership experience across Malaysian and global conglomerates, with expertise in strategic transformation, sustainability and operations.

Before joining Gas Malaysia, he was Managing Director of Siemens Energy Malaysia, leading operations and growth while supporting Malaysia’s energy transition. Previously, as Chief Ventures and Sustainability Officer at AEON Group Malaysia, he drove innovation and the Group’s sustainability roadmap.

Azli has also held senior leadership roles as Chief Transformation Officer at Capital A (formerly AirAsia Group), where he spearheaded enterprise-wide restructuring and operational transformation; Chief Strategy Officer at Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad; and Chief Operating Officer at GE Malaysia.

Beyond his corporate roles, Azli serves on the National Advisory Council for the United Nations Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei. He was Senior Advisor to Openspace Capital and served on the Board of the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC).

He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) from Universiti Utara Malaysia, completed the Leadership Finance Programme at INSEAD and earned the Euro-ASEAN MBA from KEDGE Business School.

Faris has over 30 years of experience in crude oil, petroleum products and LNG marketing and trading across PETRONAS and its international subsidiaries, including PETRONAS LNG., PETRONAS Trading Co., Malaysia LNG., PETRONAS Dagangan., PETRONAS Niaga Indonesia and ENGEN South Africa.

A visionary and transformational leader, he brings extensive expertise in trading, marketing, risk management, business development, organisational transformation and talent development. He has led PETRONAS’ crude oil, petroleum products and LNG trading units, served as CEO of PETRONAS Niaga Indonesia, and was appointed Advisor to PETRONAS’ Marketing & Trading Skill Group.

His key achievements include strengthening trading risk management, digitalising retail performance management, transforming organisational capabilities and advancing Malaysia’s gas market liberalisation.
