OPENING REMARKS Abang Yusuf Abang Puteh serves as the President of the Malaysian Gas Association (MGA), the nation's lead advocate for the natural gas industry. Bringing over 25 years of extensive experience in energy, LNG assets, carbonate reservoirs, and offshore operations, he plays a key role in advancing sustainable energy strategies and driving industry collaboration across the region.
Over his career, he has held numerous executive leadership positions in global energy management and currently sits on corporate boards, including PETRONAS Energy Canada Ltd. and PETRONAS Chemicals Group Berhad.
Academically, Abang Yusuf holds a Bachelor’s degree in Chemical Engineering from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM). He further honed his strategic executive vision by completing the Advanced Management Programme at Harvard Business School.

PANEL SESSION ONE: GLOBAL PERSPECTIVES Andrea has 30 years’ experience in the energy and gas sector in strategic, development, commercial, regulatory and transition matters.
Starting in Eni E&P and thereafter he actively promoted the liberalization process, leading Underground Gas Storage regulatory and business development.
Since 2010, he moved to Snam where he has been leading infrastructure development and international M&A activities. Among these, he had a primary role in fostering the Southern Gas Corridor development.
When heading Snam Strategy, he was the initial promoter of the Gas for Climate 2050 initiative and launched the CNG/SSLNG and biomethane activities.
He then led the Snam Global Solutions business unit, founded to support gas markets development and optimization worldwide and, in specific, the set-up of Snam cooperation in China. He is currently serving as International Gas Union President.

PANEL SESSION ONE: GLOBAL PERSPECTIVESChris Starling is the Chief Strategy Officer of JERA Asia, based in Singapore. He leads strategy development, business planning, and market intelligence activities for JERA’s gas-to-power and low-carbon thermal power businesses across South and Southeast Asia.
With 20 years of experience across Asian and European energy markets, Chris’ expertise covers energy market analysis and strategy development across the fuel-to-power and renewable energy sectors in Asia. His work spans policy and regulation, fundamentals and forecasting, and competitor analysis. Chris has also authored and contributed to numerous energy market publications and assessments on behalf of organizations such as the Asian Development Bank.
Prior to JERA, Chris held roles at European energy utilities and at a leading Asian consultancy. Within Asia, he has led teams on strategic initiatives and advisory services across South and Southeast Asia energy markets, including transaction advisory work to support major M&A deals in markets such as the Philippines, Thailand, and Vietnam.
Chris also serves on the Board of Directors and Investment Committee at Electricity Generating Public Company Limited (EGCO Group), a leading power business based in Thailand. He holds an MBA from the University of Bath in the United Kingdom.

PANEL SESSION THREE: MALAYSIA’S RESPONSEAzli Mohamed is the President & Group Chief Executive Officer of Gas Malaysia Berhad. He brings over two decades of leadership experience across Malaysian and global conglomerates, with expertise in strategic transformation, sustainability and operations.
Before joining Gas Malaysia, he was Managing Director of Siemens Energy Malaysia, leading operations and growth while supporting Malaysia’s energy transition. Previously, as Chief Ventures and Sustainability Officer at AEON Group Malaysia, he drove innovation and the Group’s sustainability roadmap.
Azli has also held senior leadership roles as Chief Transformation Officer at Capital A (formerly AirAsia Group), where he spearheaded enterprise-wide restructuring and operational transformation; Chief Strategy Officer at Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad; and Chief Operating Officer at GE Malaysia.
Beyond his corporate roles, Azli serves on the National Advisory Council for the United Nations Global Compact Network Malaysia & Brunei. He was Senior Advisor to Openspace Capital and served on the Board of the Malaysian Global Innovation & Creativity Centre (MaGIC).
He holds a Bachelor of Business Administration (Hons) from Universiti Utara Malaysia, completed the Leadership Finance Programme at INSEAD and earned the Euro-ASEAN MBA from KEDGE Business School.

MODERATOR SESSION THREE: MALAYSIA’S RESPONSERosman Hamzah brings over 30 years of robust experience in the energy sector, encompassing the entire life cycle of energy projects, from policy formulation and business development to engineering and project management.
Currently the Managing Director of ROSERGY Consulting, Rosman previously served as the Secretary General of the Malaysian Gas Association (MGA) where he proactively advocated advancement of the Malaysian gas industry that include establishing the Malaysian Gas Symposium (MyGAS) as the premier platform for industry discourse on natural gas.
He also participated in several national committees on drafting various policies concerning the energy sector. Rosman's significant impact to the industry was acknowledged with the ASEAN Energy Award for Individual Excellence in 2023.Rosman has actively participated as a speaker and moderator at numerous conferences, contributing to the discourse on energy matters in Malaysia and abroad. Additionally, he played a pivotal role in founding the Malaysia Women in Energy (MyWiE), advocating for equal opportunities for women in the energy sector.
Rosman holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Nottingham and BEng from University of Bath. He is currently an ELITE@UM Fellow at Universiti Malaya (UM) and a member of the Industrial Advisory Panel at Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN)
