SEEKING SPONSORSHIP FOR ENERGY EFFICIENCY PROGRAM FOR SCHOOL STUDENTS
11 March 2016
In 2014, MGA collaborated with Petrosains Sdn. Bhd. and embarked on an educational initiative called Energy Efficiency Program (EEP) for schools students. The objectives of the program are to raise the level of awareness among the youngsters (secondary school level) of the role of natural gas in energy system, the importance of energy conservation and using energy efficiently through behavioral change, which we hope will impact societal attitudes towards energy efficiency in the long term.
Throughout 2014-2015, the program was held in Selangor, Kuala Lumpur, Sabah, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Johor and Pahang with the involvement of 3,206 students from 48 secondary schools. The Energy Efficiency Science Fair which was held at Petrosains’ Discovery Centre at Suria KLCC on 17 August 2015 was also well received with an attendance of 120 students and 8 teachers from 2 schools in Kuala Lumpur. Based on analysis conducted by Petrosains, the program achieved average awareness of 91.7% for Visit-to-School sessions and 86.5% for Science Fair, both of which were above Petrosains standard target of 75%.
In our effort to build the human capital, the advancing of knowledge and training, particularly among our young generation, has been one of the key objectives of MGA. It is therefore our desire to continue with this program into the future and we are seeking sponsorship to fund the program.
Together with Petrosains, MGA has been as inventive as possible to allow more companies to participate by developing modular sponsorship opportunities that matches with the budgets of different companies. Companies can participate in this program by indicating the number of sessions they would like to support and in which location (Klang Valley or any particular state in Peninsular Malaysia or East Malaysia). In addition, companies can also support the one day Science Fair either in Kuala Lumpur, Kuantan or Kota Kinabalu.
By supporting this program, your company will be contributing to the industry’s effort in human capital development and nurturing of our younger generation who will play a pivotal role in our energy future. We will, of course, discuss with you the specific details on how you would like to brand your organization in relation to the funding that is provided.
If you would like to know more about EEP, sponsoring schools or to enquire about detailed costs and options, please do not hesitate to contact Mr Ho Sook Wah at hosw@malaysiangas.com or En. Mohd Azhan Ismail at azhan@malaysiangas.com.
